TOMMY YUNE, mid 20s, unkempt in a cheap suit, tie untightened, sits on a couch across from LATONNA, late 20s, flawless beauty. She sits in a chair with her legs crossed. Skin-tight clothes. A knife in her hand. She slowly slides a finger across its razor-sharp edge. They look at each other in silence. Gazing nowhere else, except at each other. An untrusting glare between them. They are not friends. Yune looks uneasy... YUNE I'm getting tired of waiting, Latonna. Where is she? Latonna remains calm, but is visibly sick of Yune... LATONNA If you speak to me again... I will kill you. Her eyes show that she means it. Her finger still sliding across the blade. Yune settles in his seat and remains silent. Seconds later... three slow deliberate KNOCKS at the front door. Yune looks toward it. A look of nervousness. Fear. Latonna stares at Yune's expression and uneasiness, disgusted by his presence -- she rises and steps with grace to the door. She opens the door wide and bows her head, keeping her gaze toward the floor. ZANEEN, late 20s, wearing a long striking dress that covers her entire frame, gracefully enters the room. Her skin is dark -- her eyes like that of an albino.

She does not look at Latonna as she enters. Her attention is immediately on Yune. Yune quickly stands and backs away from Zaneen as Latonna closes and locks the door. He can't hide his fear. Zaneen sees it. ZANEEN (flowing softly) You are Yune -- yes? Yune hesitates -- as if he doesn't want to answer. Latonna quickly steps forward. LATONNA (to Yune) Answer my queen! YUNE I am Yune. Where is my money? I only agreed to this 'cause I would be paid. Zaneen looks at him with a loving smile that frightens Yune even more... ZANEEN (flowing) You will be paid. The child... where is the child? YUNE (quickly) The money. I want to see the money? Zaneen's white eyes looks into Yune's eyes... studying him. ZANEEN You do not trust me? YUNE No, I don't trust you! You are the Zau! I know of your cult! Why you want the girl! Corrected... ZANEEN The child. YUNE "The child!"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. ZANEEN (soft) Why do we want the child? Yune knows but is afraid to speak the words. Zaneen smiles... ZANEEN (softer) Why? YUNE Mankind... you wanna use her -- to end mankind. She continues to smile at him... her white eyes terrifying him. ZANEEN (with passion) End mankind... the Zau wants to cleanse mankind. Purify it. Removing what is weak -- and unworthy of life. Replacing all with what was truly meant to be... what, in a short matter of time... will be. Yune looks at her as if she was insane. Zaneen no longer smiles... ZANEEN Where is the child? He struggles with the decision to answer her... finally... YUNE She is with an African named M'Bake -- he has her at this address. Yune reaches into his coat, pulling out a folded piece of paper, handing it to Zaneen. YUNE He protects her. Zaneen takes the paper without looking at what is written. YUNE He will die for her. ZANEEN Yes, he will. Zaneen turns away, walking toward the door. YUNE I gave you what you wanted. I want to be paid! Where is my money!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Without turning back... ZANEEN (softly, to Latonna) Pay him. Without hesitation and lightning speed, Latonna hurls her knife into Yune's heart. With a look of shock, he stumbles back, falling to the floor, choking on his own blood. Latonna steps up and kneels over Yune. As she slowly pulls the knife from his chest, she whispers in his ear. LATONNA You have met my Queen. When you enter hell -- you will meet my King. Latonna rises and leaves. Yune dies with his eyes open. FADE OUT.
